About your music: Drawing on many traditional folk music styles, Key Wilde & Mr Clarke write and perform songs that feature original characters who present unusual, often humorous, stories. The stories create an imaginary world.
About this song: Key Wilde: The song started out with visual images I created of animals forming letters of the alphabet. I originally intended to create a picture book for children. The project didn’t seem like quite enough (there are so many alphabet books out there) so I wrote music and lyrics and turned it into a song. After recording the song with Mr Clarke, I created an animated video and shared the song, via YouTube, with people from all parts of the world. I would still like to make a book someday and hope that children will continue to read and enjoy printed books.
What I hope children, teachers and families get from this song: I hope the song will provide an imaginative and entertaining way for young listeners to learn and use the alphabet. When we perform the song live we ask the audience to help us compose a song by naming an animal for each letter of the alphabet.
